Best Block has been producing Concrete Masonry Units (CMU’s) for over 50 years. Smooth Colored CMU’s offer the same outstanding economy, security, safety, sound deadening qualities, design flexibility, and durability as a standard CMU. Best Block produces Smooth Colored Units in a wide variety of shapes and sizes using state-of-art machinery and methods to ensure the highest quality. Every colored unit is specially produced for your job to insure color consistency. Minor color variations can occur within a production run. However, they are more prevalent when units are manufactured in different production time frames. So plan your quantities for each job carefully.

Like the Standard CMU’s and other Architectural CMU’s, Smooth Colored Units meet the requirements ASTM C-90 for “medium weight units”. Medium weight units offer higher STC, R-Values and Fire Safety ratings than normal weight units and are lighter for the mason.

Please remember, all exterior CMU walls must be produced with an integral water-repellent and installed with a water repellent admixture in the mortar, otherwise a surface sealer which is breathable must be applied.
